With Jacob being an Organist+Harpsichordist, and Erik being an avid lover of music from the 17th and 18th centuries, we have chosen a full program of baroque music. Our musicians are all trained in historically-informed performance; they will all play on historical versions of instruments you may recognize, in a style that reflects that of the time period. What does this mean? One big difference between modern and historical instruments is the use of gut strings rather than steel. This produces a softer, yet earthy and pure tone that is more ideal for an intimate setting. Another key difference is the gestural and articulate way of performing this music, rather than a modern style of smoothness and legato.
